Smokin Toledo Bend 8-17-13

Struggled sat morning with the kids in the boat and high pressure with 15 mph winds... only caught 3 bass. Headed out Sat afternoon for a little redemption Solo and found my groove. High pressure and strong north winds had the bite slooooww.... but I managed a few. Finesse techniques in 20' - 30' water were key. With a few schoolies right at the end of the day caught on TW plug. All fish caught on texas side midlake. Should be good night fishing Tuesday with the full moon and the high pressure system rolling out..... WISH I was up there dangit. Brought one goo home for the inlaw. LOL!

Yeah it was all about finesse today.

Went out on Vernon for a little bit today. Picked up a few good sized fish ended up the the 1/2 day catching a total of 8. But had to switch to lighter line, smaller weight on a texas rigged baby sized plastic, they even seemed to turn there noses up if i used my normal bulkier worm hook... switched to a more wire style tru turn.

But it was still a good days fishing fun.

Nice mess there!

Sorry date is 8/17/2013..... Yeah I would've thrown a drop shot all day if the wind wouldn't have been soo bad. Hard to fish open water in Toledo in that kind of wind... more fish out of the bays anyways.
