I heard the water in Pecan Island is very high. Going set out decoys tomorrow at my lease South of Kaplan. I hear we still have a good amount of ducks on the farm.

Cannot wait until SAT.

Went down to GC Sunday afternoon to touch up the blind and we got about an extra foot or so...Saw a few ducks here and there and rode around the marsh a little bit jumping up a few, but when were leaving closer to dark, there were some good flights of birds coming in. We'll take what we can get this weekend and I definitely wont get bent out of shape if we only kill a handful.

I'm shocked at how many people are putting decoys out a week in advance. I try to pick mine up after every hunt as a lot of our birds stick around and smarten up over a couple weeks.

Taking off Thursday. Going check out things in South Kaplan and Pecan Island.

We need some freaking weather.

Hunted youth weekend on SAT SW of Kaplan and my son and his bud shot 6 BW teal. They should of had a few more. Also fog was pretty bad plus no wind.

Ya'll might be alright when the shooting starts kintchen. Larry reynolds had this to say about the survey yesterday afternoon.

"We have 9 of 28 lines left to fly, all in SE LA. Finished SW and Catahoula Lake. Crunching the SW numbers now, so don't have a total, but we saw good numbers of gadwalls south of West Cove of Lake Calcasieu, on the East Cove Unit of Cameron Prairie NWR, and on Rockefeller south of Hwy 82. Another big bunch of teal was seen west of Gueydan, but off the line, and a few flocks of non-divers were stacked up on open water of White Lake and Vermilion Bay, which typically means they just arrived."
