Default Chilly morning.

How'd everyone do? We killed two mallards and two gray ducks in crooked creek. You know it's bad when a downed duck skips across the ice 15 yards.

Glad I actually stayed home to touch up paint inside my house.....I spoke with the guy that has a lease about 1/2 mile from mine in Kaplan......NOTHING....saw maybe 30 ducks total! Looks like tomorrow will be another honey-do day of things inside my house!

Default Grand Chenier

Killed 5 birds this am. 1teal/1scaup/3spoonies. Boat had to break ice most of the way to get to the blind and so it was sort of hard to keeep it on step. Really not many birds flying today. Glad we killed some but rather dissapointing

Get him back to his blind and heading back to mine, Rick stops me on the way back and said Mike was broke down in the run. Head off to see about him, Throtle cable on his godevil froze up in the wide open position. Give him some tools and head back to mine 45 min after shooting time and ask them what they had and they said 3 spoons. Told me they had ducks every where but wouldnt come close enough. we killed 5 more and had to go start picking everyone back up. Glad this day is over. Sorry about the long story but thats hunting. Our marsh ended uo with 67 birds today
Ahh the joy of boats; thats why I say a successfull hunt is not always measured in the ducks killed but the lack of mechanical issues.

One day when I grow up, I will have a marsh blind that I take an atv to.

Default cold

Got to the rice field in bunkie this morning to find the entire field froze with ice an inch thick. Then it was so cold my gun completly froze up wouldn't even shoot.Had to take the trigger and firing pin assembly out and put it in my shirt for about twenty minutes.then hold the thing in my arm pit for the rest of the hunt so it would shoot.Damn cold morning

I was on my knees in the grass...tried walking on my knees, hit a hole, tried putting my gun on the dog walk so i wouldn't drowned it in ice water... pinched a nerve in my back trying to put it on the dog walk, then laid out flat in the water
