Default Wax

Decided to make a trip to the Wax ... Left Abbeville about 9am.. After getting gas and snacks.. Got the the carbon blk. landing about 10:30 AM..

Ran down river.. It was CHILLLLEEEEE.. But I was bundled up plus with my paint ball mask.. Let me tell u.. That thing works..

GOt to where I hunted last yr.. NO WATER.. I mean NONE.. Rode around trying to find some place to hunt..

Well about 12noon water starts to trickle in.. I go back to my orginial place... GOT everything into Pirgoue..

Paddles about 50 yrs in the ditch...HIT the main lake.. Well it had 2 inches of water..

There was a half decent blind about 100 yds away.. SO off I go walking pulling pirgoue behind me..

Set out 2 doz deke.. The sand was hard as concrete so no problem standing in the blind..

Well a few birds moving.. Well I look up an a nice pintail is cupped up and one shot.. ONE PT drake on the water..

About 20 minutes later I make a double on spoonies..

Passed on a few teal that were a little out of range.. By this time waters coming up fast..

Crippled another spoon that flew off..

About 3:30 pm water was up to my groin area. It started ankle deep..

Decided to pick up.. Was NOT going to shot spoons..

Anyway.. Did NOT see alot of ducks... Teal were rafting up in this flat.. ONLY time any ducks would move was if someone would run thru with a surface drive..

I only saw one pair of mallards... That's it..

I was alone.. SO I didn't want to stay until dark..

There are no ducks at the WAX... With the South east and south wind I thought I would see more ducks..

If you R thinking about going out there.. No need to get out there early..

I did hear some shooting.. But nothing exceptional..
