I got a food saver from walmart the other night for $80. Came with a huge roll of bags. Sealed up some chicken the other morning. Took up half as much space as the original bag. The food savers are the bomb !!

4~5 hours of work on a vacuum sealer would be hard on all but the truly commercial units. Mine got hot also, but its still working today!

Ryan, he's just remembering the stories.

If you go to www.foodsaver.com and check, they have sales all of the time. Just keep checking back on their site.

I have had a Foodsaver since 1994. It had a bad gasket and they don't make parts for the model I have anymore. So I bought a new one.
Called the manufacturer to see if there was any way possible to find a sealing gasket and one guy over there said to soak the old one in warm water for a few hours then let it set overnight on the counter. Worked great, now I have 2 of them.
The old one is plain jane and the new one is fancy.
