There used to be a tide correction table in Gulf Coast Fisherman. I haven't purchased the magazine in a long time so I don't know if they still have that. Regardless, if you look around you should be able find a correction table somewhere.
Fishing is definitely best when the water is moving. Outgoing or incoming can both be good, but where you fish on each plays a part also. For example fishing a marsh cut on an outgoing where bait is being pulled out of the marsh and fish are ambushing. If you find yourself with no tide, fish the edge of the ship channel and hope for a ship to come by. I've caught many a fish when a ship starts to suck the water off of a shallower flat. That's how critical water movement is to the bite at times. |
