Default get up in soft mud

Have a 40 tohatsu tldi with 13 pitch prop on tunnel.
Wondering if put a 15 pitch prop on would it get up better in soft mud and run thru the soft mud better? Looking for more grip on takeoff. Any experience out there?

A 15 will get up slower than your 13. Think of the prop as a rear end gear, a 15 is a taller gear than a 13, hence, less low end power.

Drop to a 12 and have a touch of cup added. The cup will prevent blowing out and the 12 will shoot the boat up quickly.

Adding cup is gonna lower your rpms a little bit but not near as much as moving up a couple pitches on your prop. Cajun Christian knows what he is talking about, after adding a jp to my boat I might have to hook the hull haha
