Default Clear Creek Mandatory Deer Check??

I am planning on hunt the Clear Creek, either sex hunt this coming weekend. I see the regs call for a Mandatory Deer check. I hunted up at Big Lake years ago and you had to line up for some type of tag before the hunt. We had to be there like at 4:00 in the morning to stand in line. Do I have to do this for Clear Creek, is this what mandatory check means...that they will issue some tags or something or does it just mean I have to check in my deer if I get one?

No. If you kill you will need to go by and have your deer checked in. That is all

You still have to fill out the self-clearing permit at the check-in stations.

Yes, I figured I had to do the self check, just didn't know if there was anything else to it. The hunt I participated in up at Big Lake years ago you had to line up and it was a pain. Thanks. This makes this hunt a little more doable for me.

the game wardens are not at every self clearing station. I know a couple of years ago they were at the East side station about 2 miles south of the camp ground. Don't know about the north or west side.

Big lake is different in that it is a National Wildlife Refuge as opposed to a state WMA.

I may be wrong, but I think think that is the only place they do the check anymore.

Could have been......but I don't think so.

Some WMA's have 2 weigh in places, but CC only has had one in the last 10+ years.

You prolly right, I wasn't there last year for the opener. It's just what I heard. I'll be there this year though.
