I am doing a closed transom on a 21' boat that is getting built this fall and was curious how much setback I would need. Closing the transom is only lowering a couple inches, but adds a ton of rear deck room. Haven't found the motor yet, but will be in the 150 class, probably a 2 stroke, what can I say, I like the light weight.

I have a custom aluminum boat and it has about 2 ft gill bracket. Pm me if you want pics and specs. I have a 150 Yamaha. I think the new four strokes are as light as the 2 strokes.

I'd get the atlas jack plate instead

Thought about the atlas but did tons of research and everyone goes to bobs instead. Rather not take a chance

I get dealer pricing on the Atlas jack plates and I am strongly considering going with the Bob's. From what I understand, Atlas cut a hell of a deal for manufactures to use their products over Bob's. I wish I could get that hell of a deal...

10" bobs on my blazer bay and no issues getting on plain in really shallow water.
