Angry 2001 150 efi merc trouble

port motor on my 2300 bluewater is running bad intermittently, it will drop off several hundred RPM's. At times it will kick in and run strong for a few minutes but most often only a few seconds. I have changed fuel water separator and plugs no difference any ideas.

check all the fuel hose connections to make sure you dont have any air leaks. Also change your primer bulb, might have a hair line crack in it

thanks will give that a try had not really considered that since there was no water in separator and these lines and bulbs are under water quite a bit because of location on splash well.

mine started with the same symptoms. turned out to be the stator and the trigger going out. shop quoted me 1155.00 to fix but I ordered the parts for 550 and runs like a champ again. before anything check compression and fuel pressure. then check spark in all cylinders.

thanks for the good ideas. to follow up on problems it is solved. while doing the checks found loose ground screw grounding coil packs. Lesson, take more time doing close visual inspections when looking for a problem.
