Motors over 50 need 90. Racor is the best because you can drain the water as it collects in the glass. Also the higher micron the better.

Is it really necessary to have a water separator? Those of you that have them, are you seeing water in the glass bowl? I am just wondering if you are actually pulling water from fresh gas. I have been running with only the screen filter on the motor and haven't had any problems, guess I have just been lucky. The only fuel maintenance I have done in the past is add seafoam to my tank when it gets down to about 10 gallons and take it for a ride.

Had one in boat for 3 years, boat was getting ran on avg of probably 3 days a week for a good 2 years, separator was glass may have drained 2 drops of water from it. BUT, if I ever would have a problem with water I had the separator!

All our go devils and little outboards in the marsh we use during hunting season all have separators and we get water in the fuel alot. Moisture rich environments the ethanol pulls it out the air and in the fuel. If u are constantly putting fresh fuel and running weekly you won't see it but if u go long periods with the same fuel you might see some water build up

You don't need the high dollar racor filters. They sell some kits for around 40-50 bucks that work just fine.

I got mine from academy. I don't know the gph but it filters down to 10 microns. It has a clear bowl on the bottom. A fuel/water separator and seafoam or startron in the gas helps eliminate something else that can go wrong.
