Got home from work today and noticed the birds working acroos and down river a little ways, and though man I should throw the kayak in and check it out. But then, decided they'd be gone and my back was really hurting. Well 15 minutes later they are still there so I say what the heck got 30 minutes of daylight. Hauled the kayak down, got the gear and climbed in. About that time I Heard a noise, turned around and saw the barge coming!!!! So I hauled Over to the birds and the speck were tearing up the bait. I caught 8 real quick but most wer about 14-14.5 I did have one a lil bigger jump out of the bottom of the yak. I did manage to get one back to the pier so I could get a pic of my first Kayak fish. it was right at 16"

Those spur the moment trips always trun out to be great even if you only catch 1. Looking forward to meeting you on the water in the future.

I'm thinking I will be watching the river close when I have opportunities the next week. Hopefull this rain tonight won't mess it up.
