Default quick question on registratoin sticker placement

I never knew for sure whats the "correct" placement of the registration sticker.

even the game warden I asked couldn't tell me for sure, he just said as long as its with the numbers he wasn't aware of if the stickers were supposed to follow the numbers or just be at the stern end of the numbers on both sides. he did say he was sure you wouldn't get a ticket over it either way, but you never know depending on who you get.

here is the question:

the registration letter gives the registration numbers and the stickers and explains how the numbers go and shows the sticker going at the end of the numbers but it doesn't say anything about where to put it other then just showing the picture of the sticker being after the numbers so im left wondering if that should be reversed for the other side.

so.....the question is about the opposite side of the boat where everything is in reverse order

do the stickers both go at the stern end of the registration numbers on each side or at the front of the boat on the other side (since the numbers are reversed) which would make it come after the numbers as shown in the picture on the registration card? so should one side the stickers go on the bow side and the other its at the stern end of the numbers.

I have always put both stickers on the stern side of the numbers but was wondering if I have been doing this correctly of not all this time.

The stickers go at the end on the numbers on both sides. Port towards bow, starboard to stern.

I've been doing it right all these years without ever knowing if it was the right way or not, I just did it the same way I see it on other boats

The stickers have to be within 6" of the LA numbers, either in the front or to the rear of the LA numbers.

Ya I guess you got the idea. I got mine all around the number old ones and new ones. Funny how ever so often colors are the same. But in hind sight after 15 years of stickers all over around numbers the idea of the new one on top of the old one might have bean the way to go. But it is kinda cool to see all them years and colors.

so it should look like

no one will likely ever say anything but if you ever repaint them one day, it should look like LA-0263-ZZ

its strange how you got all those mixed up sticker dates too, as mine are always like 3 or 4 years at a time I think, I never had them be year after year like yours.

I almost painted mine on but decided to go with reflective stickers to help it be a little more visible at night, little extra safety never hurts
