Default Lake Mechant

I was coming from out of town to fish the Mechant area on Good Friday and was wondering if I should make it another day because of the winds switching to the north. I'm not familiar with the area and would appreciate the advise. Thanks in advance!

That's the best wind to fish it!!!!!!!!! Stay home on any "west" wind in the Dularge area. Best of luck!

Just cross your fingers that all the winds die down to clear up the water.

I've got a trip Friday so I'll be out there. I'm hopeful to get out there tomorrow afternoon for a few hours to check out the water quality. Fin is right the West winds are the worst in DU. It does stink that the wind is doing a circle but there will be some clean water somewhere. If you go, don't get stuck in one area for too long. If it's calm (5-10) like the weatherman predicts the birds should be diving which will help locating fish. The problem is that the weatherman is never right. If you get out there and you find dirty water and no trout, hit the ponds for redfish. Got to go to know. Good luck!!!

I will be in a cream colored Xpress with all three of my girls....Look for me, I'll be the one retying baits, cutting line, rebuilding reels on the deck and everything else, but fishing....I really want to see how my boat looks!!! I will be in mechant or sister, wherever water is clean....

No, wasn't me....I fished Lake Verret last weekend on the south end and dessimated the brim and chinquapin population....but not Belle River....Caught a bunch of catfish and more 13" bass than you could shake a stick at...Every cast with the old speed craw...BAM, throwback bass....Was fun though....

Default Lake Mechant

I'll be out there Friday evening and all day Saturday unless we catch our limit real quick. I'll be in an older Ranger bass boat -gray hull black topcap. Come by and holler at me.....If you're on the fish!
