Thanks man, it's good to hear there's fish somewhere around the bay. The high river and these winds are making you have to work for them fish. Beats a day in the office though!

i definately want to try bird island bayou. i have a couple of my favorite spots back in the lakes deep in the island, i am afraid the more east i head the more the water will murky and freshen up. on a sount wind the rocks at the mouth of the bird island might not be too bad on an outgoing tide. might try the avery if that west wind is pumping. find clear water, bait and a moving tide and you got the fish.

Water is better looking in the west end, but salinity isn't there. Still alot of fish. Fished a few spots down bird island bayou late sat and only picked up 2. Might of been there after everyone else though. Mouth of the Avery isn't a bad idea but you might sit there for a while. Heard they have picking up a few here and there on the end. I'm not sure if you know where the mouth of the commercial canal is but you would prolly be better off over there.

Oyster lake and lake ferme.....full of redfish and flounder. I don't suggest going in there if you don't know your way around though.

Fished oyster lake sat, but not til around 1pm sat. Only picked up two reds. If you can beat the crowd it's prolly a good spot. Fished the lakes on the east end mon and had 2 limits quick! The island is loaded with fish, anywhere should be good. Montauk, when y'all went?

I learned oyster "bayou" is very shallow. Good fishing though.I found a nice reef that even holds trout all the way at the end of oyster ditch is what I call it. Where the ditch comes to a T where you go right to go to the gulf/mound point area. Instead of going that route take a left.Make sure you hug the bank to your right maybe 100 yards or so down the cut there is a nice reef on the left bank. Used to smoke the reds, flounder, and specks right there. Very long run from the point, bring extra gas....sometimes you never see another boat out there.

Im game....love fishing out there. Nice to catch a bunch of fish without getting ran over by other boats. I don't mind describing my spots cause most people won't make that long run in sometimes less than a foot of water under you. If you can find it,more power to you.
