Default Hello Salty Cajun

Well to start things off, was a long time follower of Louisiana Sportsman, but now can't post anything on there without the moderators removing posts, can't voice your opinion on their anymore, so I'm not using that site anymore, someone recommended this site sayin it would be more my taste.

To start off I'm 25yrs old, life long resident of South La, live in lower plaquemines parish. I'm a licensed 100ton near coastal Crewboat Capt, I run a 110ft triple screw crewboat for a company I'm not too proud to work for, I decked straight out of high school, knew exactly what I wanted to do, put my time in to get my sea time out, paid my dues and went to school and got my certificate and got my license from the coast guard. Got injured on 3-16-08 due to someone elses piss poor judgement and in experience, and crappy boat handling skills, now I'm 25 and I have six 4 1/2" titanium pedicle screws drilled into my spine, and can no longer maintain my commercial grade 100 ton license, needless to say I have a very hefty lawsuit, that is almost near an end. Not sure what to do next in life, but hopefully will find something.

So my introduction set aside, I've always believed and was raised that there is this american dream, that you work hard, and do good in school and pursue your dreams and you'll do good in life. So as i stated, went to school, worked hard, even due to my injury I worked for a good enough company that I was offered long term disability insurance that I was smart enough to obtain at the time. So I still have a somewhat substantial income that allows me to stay in my house, pay my bills, and still allowed to have somewhat decent life besides having to deal with back pain that is in and out, but I still enjoy fly fishing at my parents pond, catchin a few hyrbid striper bass and perch. Now being 25, having a double fusion back surgery and life long asthma I'm still able to pay out of pocket for health insurance, and I'm proud that I'm able to provide for myself, but what I don't understand is that now if this two faced sob that some people call the president, I didn't vote for him so hes not my president, is gonna make me pay for someone else's laziness and lack of believing in the american dream, so I'm gonna have to pay out of my tax money so he can have the same opportunity at free health insurance that I pay through the nose to obtain for myself, what the hell is wrong with this picture ?? What is this world coming to that teachers are not teaching school work and academics and are teaching kids to praise obama and trying to brainwash kids to believe in their own political beliefs, I just don't understand what happening to this great free world that I'm living in. I gotta wonder if there is any point in still believing in the american dream anymore....

But anyways I'm glad I found this place and hopefully will make some new fellow sportsman friends....

Welcome captain Bob. I feel your pain as I had a double fusion at 24. Life is scary with this half breed in office who has never worked a day in his life.
