Question Lafayette food ideas?

I have my wife and 3yr old headed to Lafayette for the day and was wanting some ideas of places to go eat... what yall got that aint no chain food

not lookin to break the bank but something good... been to Zeas and its very good but wanting something different Shucks is on the list of possibles

Dupuys in Abbeville is also a good choice.. If you want a good poboy hit up old tyme grocery on st Mary

The food there isn't bad, but all the dishes I've eaten there taste like the fish oil they give you. I work at the accounting firm behind Albertson's and the vietnamese girl that I work with is always ordering from there. Makes the whole damn office smell!

Hit up Pete's or the the pizza place downtown. I can't remember the name though.
