I fished Friday afternoon for 2 hours before being run off by weather. We tried again Sunday morn but it looked like the parting of the Red Sea out there with those rolling white clouds along the surface of the bay...not to mention the lightning, back home for 10:00am. I knew it was time to leave Friday when my fishing line stayed suspended over the water after each cast, the buzzing of graphite fishing rods didn't help either.

Heard a report of someone finding the birds working near Marsh Island and catching a limit 2 man limit of trout in 2 hours.

Second hand report from a guy at work though.

Went out friday afternoon around 3:30. Calm as could be with sunshine. Headed to the outside.started hitting platforms, with not much success.Tide was moving and pretty water, but it wasnt happening. Ended up having a storm come up between us and the point,so we were waiting it out in the pass in the calm waters for it to pass.It then backed up,wind got strong, and another one started forming from the opposite direction with lightning, heading towards us. So, we ended up having to just make a run for it,ended up getting back a good bit after dark. It was like riding in a washing machine. We were at a camp for the night, didnt even put the boat in the water on Sat.

Same here, Friday evening. Birds all over Trash Pile. White trout everywhere mixed in with everyone's favorite gaftop. If the storms wouldn't have blown us off the water could have put together a nice box.

Fished Saturday, caught 7 reds. Even found bird working in the little bay with nothing but gaftops and ladyfish working under them.

Went to Marsh Island reefs Friday. Lot of species, no numbers for me. Caught one 18" speck on the backside of the first reef to the east from the pass, then a black drum then nothing else. Went to Diamond for the first time for me, one huge gafftop was all I found. Water not very clear, maybe 5 inches. Big storm clouds over to the west of the bay with visible lightning strikes got me picking my way back to the pass for safe haven. Withstood plenty wind and rain with all anchors out on the west side of the pass, then picked up a croaker, 2 small reds and one 13" speck. Then I had to get back home. Specks, reds and drum were caught on live bait, usually mullet. I did better in the pass in about an hour than at the reefs for about 3 1/2 hours. At least I got to experience the Diamond reef complex, enough to know I wouldn't want to be caught in the middle of it during a squall. If I knew where "Pavy" reef was I could tell you if that was where I picked up the speck and reds in the pass or not.

Default quick Vbay trip today

Hit Vbay this morning for a few hours. Lots of fog until about 9ish. Nothing in the cove, caught a couple of flounder around Blue Point, then a few reds in cuts off Weeks Bay. water was beautiful everywhere.
