Jedi,

New member here. I just bought a new Curado G series (200G7) and I don't like the action compared to all my older Curado models. Can you tell me about your bearings? What do you recommend for an upgrade? (bearings, possibly an aluminum drag star, Ti line guide?)

Sure thing, Rick. the boca bearing upgrade to either the abec 5 or abec 7 provides an excellent increase in spools speed, resulting in smoother, longer casts. The ceramic abec 7 bearings are more expensive ($30 a pair) but they are very slick and i consider them to be worth the price. Even the abec 5 stainless bearing ($15 a pair) are a great upgrade over stock bearings. As far as other upgrades go, there are endless tweaks available from low-mass spools and frames to carbon fiber handles with lightweight foam grips. But, for my money, the best and easiest upgrade is a spool bearing upgrade.

finding these parts can be challenging but it can be done..
JDMtackle.com and ichiban tackle are a couple places to start your search. Bassart also makes some fine carbon fiber handles like these..

I would rather keep my business local and Ob at The Tackle Box is VERY helpful. If you have a problem or question he could/they could assist you.
