Default grand isle for grandkids

Hey, I take my grandkids on a trip every summer, and they want to go to Grand Isle this summer, so I am hoping I can find a great camp to rent, hopefully with a dock they can fish from at night and catch specs and maybe redfish, and where we can dock the boat and still make it out the pass. Maybe where we can go crabbing, and flounder gigging somewhere nearby. I know. You can't have everything. But I want everything and so can I get some suggestions. Thanks in advance for the excellent help I know I am gonna get!

We usually stay at one of the hotels rather than a camp. For $10 a night or so, we leave the boat at Bridgeside Marina. Not quite as convenient as having it at a camp, but it's right in the pass. Some of the guys on here can suggest camps.

there are a couple of camps for rent on the bayside. You can also go fish off the fishing pier at night by the bridge. We always rent from grandislerentalsolutions.com

If you don't want to pay the rental agency fee or if they don't have any available, you can rent directly from the owner. Just scroll down the page to the Camps/Rentals part. Some have a website and some don't:

http://www.townofgrandisle.com/lodging/

VRBO also has some for Grand Isle on their site.

Thanks for all the help. I think the best fishing in July will be out the pass- is that right? Also a friend says we can go flounder gigging on Elmer's island near the pass but that seems a bit dangerous with the smaller grand kids. If there was a quiet flat I would like that better I think. I am not very familiar with the area as I have only been fishing there once and I kept finding too shallow areas in the bay. We mostly fished outside the pass near the rocks down the beach. Maybe we can go to some near platforms in our 19 ft whaler. I trust the boat more than my boat handling skills.

there is a protected bay behind elmers on the grand isle side that is good for floundering, it is safe just have to watch for soft mud and sting rays
