Default Frontier Update

I have had quite a few people ask about the 2104/Zuke 175 combo.

I have not posted anything yet because I have been testing out props for LAM to try and find the right prop for this combo. I have tried 3 props so far with the 23 pitch Suzuki being the best so far. Here are the numbers for that prop.

1 person half tank of fuel top speed 54.1 mph, cruise 4000rpm consistent 35mph

3 adults full tank top speed 48.5, cruise 32

Hole shot is very good under both conditions.

I got the 54 at 5800rpm so we are thinking with the right prop we can get closer to the 6000rpm without to much slip.

We tried a Suzuki 21 and a power tech 21 but both of them hit the rev limiter with a lot of throttle left and much slower speeds.

If any prop pros have any suggestions feel free to throw them out there.

jchief, the weight difference between the 210 and the 2104 Frontier is 215 pounds. That wont make a huge difference in performance but it will make some.

What prop are you running alphaman?

Seems like your boat is faster than his. I really want 40mph at 4000rpm.

Yeah, that's the only thing I can think of too.

Does anyone have any numbers on the Yamaha 200 4 stroke (non SHO)?

Prolly cruise at 45-50 and get good fuel mileage. Prime example why it's always best to put the max hp.

That's correct Mr. Paul, but that also includes a hydro jack plate because it is a must on the SHO motors. Montauk, I have heard that some guys are getting 3.8-4 mpg with their fuel management gauges. I have not personally witnessed that though.

Top speed has not changed much for me, I average around 50 loaded and a full tank. The mid range has gotten a little better over time. At 4000rpm under loaded conditions I am running around 38mph. I think the difference comes from me learninng the boat and where to set my trim under each condition.

Fuel mileage is awesome. I ran from Port Neches to the Jetties on Sabine at cruise speeds. But had to run WOT on the way back to avoid a storm and only burned 11 gallons. That is the equivalent of running Prien to the jetties and back.

I thought so, I couldnt believe I only burned that. I should probably mention though that not the WHOLE way back was WOT but a good bit of it.
