Default Any tips for someone fairly new to inland saltwater fishing?

Just looking for any helpful hints on inland saltwater fishing. All I have is a small boat 1436 for the time being and would love to take my nine year old son to catch some reds and specs. Any good launches, baits etc. would be very helpful. I live in Jennings.

When my son was young, we spent a lot of time at Rockafeller. Not a bunch of spec action but the red fishing is very good. Also, there is an abundance of shrimp and crabs. It's all canals so it's great for a small boat. Yep, Rockafeller would be my suggestion. Good luck.

If you don't know Choupique, try and find someone who does to show you around or take it slow at first. Can be tricky.
