Default Gigging with my Bros

Got the new flounder light design out in the water this weekend for trial run. They worked better than expected and we stuck a good mess friday and Sat. nights. Had fun with my brothers Friday night. Took the whole fam damily sat night, and Showed some of my cousins visiting from Dallas their first flounder on the gigs. It was cool to see the youngsters participating. For those of ya'll wanting to get youngsters or newbies involved in saltwater fishing, there is no better way than a gigging trip. Its almost always successful, and the learning curve is conquered very quickly.

Are you gigging these flounder in the marsh or around the coast? Would love to gig a few but have never done it and would not know where to start. Have a boat decked out to bowfish with lights that really light up the water. Will that work or do i need to get in the water with light and a backpack with battery?

are you gigging from a boat? or, do you just go in the water? Dont think there is any place to do that in vermillion bay, only big lake.

We are walking, not gigging from the boat. I am building the lights we use. They are waterproof and work awesome.

This is the first generation design pics. No pics of the latest greatest, but its essentially the same. Just one big led instead of the 2 smaller ones pictured here. Also the new ones don't have the battery compartment at the top of the wand. It has a wire coming out of the top that connects to a battery you have to carry in a back pack. But other than that, they are pretty much the same.

You build your own crab? Here is mine - sounds similar to yours. Been itching to get out on BL on night. All this rain put a bit of a damper on that. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1404229263.180782.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1404229279.313410.jpg

Mine are just some small 5watt from oznium dot com. I built this one a few years back but getting ready to build another one with a 20 watt and a switch. I have no complaints about the one I have now as it gets the job done, just ready to "upgrade".
