You have much more patience than men. Good for you not judging a successful season in straight numbers but personally I need to kill to keep me interested.

If all I'm killin is trash ducks it's not worth it to me. Can kill good ducks for free on public land. We killed 353 hunting weekends this year. Counting specks also most ducks were killed on public land. And hopefully adding 30 or so specks in the next couple weekends. Also depends on how much said blind costs lol

Figure most blinds are $5,000-$6,000 per season, sections are $15-$50 acre if you can get one or more.

Yea. I been looking for my own place to goose hunt. But no way am I paying money to kill ducks. I can justify a goose blind with specks but I can't justify a duck blind when I can kill em for free.

i paid for a whole section this year and i dont know final tally but my 5 year old grand son killed his first teal and shot second out the sky so i say it was worth it.we had a good run with greys and pintail no mallards and finshed season with what people call trash ducks but i rather shoot trash then not fire a shot.

Counting teal season...130 kia we shot around 450 - 475 out of my blind..not counting the divers and spoons in which we try not to shoot unless there is nothing else flying. Hell I bet the last week we could of shot 100 plus divers with all the water we had. Matter of fact going pay a partial $ amount for the 2013 season in a few weeks to secure my same blind again. Most landowners like to get paid as early as possible. Also, you have to factor in is how easy it is to hunt your lease in regards to cost / killing. I walk about 100 yards and I am in the blind. Our blind is over 6k but we split it 4 ways. All the guys but me work offshore so we only had 1 day out of the year all 4 of us hunted together. In turn, I get to game hog it a lot...

The neighbors don't like it, but I shoot all the birds I want in my back yard.

killed around 425 hunting pretty much only weekends ... private lease in Pecan Island 2 blinds .... it was an ok season we have killed 700-800 ducks in a season before but I'm a die-hard so even if I ain't killing I still hunt ... been hunting the same area for about 6 years now and it changes every year

I killed hardly an ducks this year on family land. Enough geese to keep me happy. If I had a lease I'd be out of the OP's lease.

You guys really need to be careful putting out duck totals on land that is leased. People will scoop it up right out from under you

If you do t own it, it's not forever. 05-07 was unreal on that lease but land management changed hands and cattle became more important than ducks but they didn't decrease the $27,000 annual fee. That place is only good for a couple 100 ducks a season now.
