Default Sac-A-Lait

Hit Toledo Bend this weekend with a buddy. Limited out Friday and Saturday and ended up with 50 this morning before we left. We never do this well this early so I can only hope it will get even better. Her are the pics from today. Most of the fish were this sixe. We did keep about a dozen smaller ones for my dad to fry whole

About 15 feet of water. Most were caught under a peir. Some were on top of brush piles. Tried jigs at first ,but they didn't want them so had to use shinners. Caught all of the fish by entrances to long shallow coves.

A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do to feed hid family. My kids are hungry. But in all honesty I have never fished with shinners before going to Toledo Bend. The first few trips I made there my buddy was out catching me 10 to one with shinners so I converted. Sometimes I do alright on jigs, but for the most part I use shinners. I only fish there until end of May to fill the freezer.
