Redfish Slam!

Big time redfish action on the DU! Got a call from Stewart Delcambre who wanted to put his 11 yr old daughter on some redfish. No better time than now is what I told him and the deal was done. They enjoyed their stay on the bayou and we got an early start from the Lakehouse. Young Darby caught her limit and had fun doing so. Making 2 stops we iced up our 15 fish limit and Stewart wanted to try and get a few trout for supper. Lake Mechant was the place to do it and we hit one flock of birds picking up 25 fish,a mixture of specks and big white trout. The fish were chasing shrimp all over the surface and the shrimp were almost jumping in the boat to escape the feeding frenzy of trout. Stewart had enough with 25 so we headed back to the dock by 10:00 am. Darby caught the largest red weighing in at just over 10 lbs! That little girl had the time of her life!! What a wonderful father/daughter team to get to know and have the pleasure to fish with!! Good luck fishing.
