Default Late Timbalier Island report June 2 2015

My wife and I made a trip down to Leeville Tuesday morning and am I glad we did. I was waiting on a phone call so didn't want to go out to far before I got it so we stayed inside and hit the usual places. We picked up a few trout here and there but they where all small. There was tons of bait and everywhere we went I expected to tear them up. I guess with that much food around it's hard to find good schools. We definitely found gaff tops at every stop. After I had my call we headed out to Timbalier Island. The water was absolutely gorgeous on the outside I could see 8 feet down to the bottom. I went to one of my favorite spots on the island and it was on. The first 10 fish where huge Spanish the smallest was 8 pounds. Then the trout started. My first trout was 5 pounds and we proceed to fill the ice chest with 49 more. None needed to be measured. On the way back in we saw lots of fish busting on top and I hoped to catch a Cobia. My wife through out and hung a monster Jack. She fought it for 30 min before finally getting it in. She was a tired, happy woman. What a great day. I have pics on my phone I'll try to post up some later.

I should have went east this past few days. Only managed about 15 in the box last 2 days total. So much bait around grand isle it was crazy.

My wife and I have fished it for the last few years. Unless the weather report changes tomorrow I'm going to cancel my room in the afternoon.
