Great Redfish/Trout Bite!
Windy weekend on the DU! Bob Jardine and his customer Allen Hickman arrived at the Lakehouse late Saturday night. They flew in from Pennsylvania to tackle the mighty south Louisiana redfish. We left the dock Sunday morning around 6:30 with the winds around 12 mph. I know they wanted big reds but I convinced them to try the trout for at least an hour. Bob & Allen had no problem with the idea and our first stop produced about 30 nice trout on bunker swimbaits. Ok I had my fix so it was off to tackle the reds! We tried a couple of locations and the water was very bad & rough due to the howling winds which began its wrath around 10:00 am. We settled in on the lee side of a protected cove and the guys soon knew what a bull red was all about! Bob caught the largest fish weighing in around 30 lbs and both gentlemen caught fish all morning. All were released unharmed to fight another day. The guys caught in excess of 50 fish Sunday and enjoyed every minute of the experience. Good luck fishing. Capt Bill Lake 985-637-3712 |
