Default choupique

Anyone go any recipes? Caught one about 18in long yesterday on one of my just lines. Thinking about making choupique balls. Maybe in a red gravy or a spaghetti. Any thoughts?

ground up, mix with mustard and with some corn meal and fry! drown it with ketchup and tiger sauce and you won't be able to taste the funk! I hear the eggs could be worth some money, they have tons of eggs in the spring.

I'm sure if you did them just like gar patties/balls, they would taste ok.

I have tried them several ways.
Best way I tried was fried patty, kinda like a garfish patty, with some gravy on top.

Still didn't care for it much. Them and Mullet are about the only fish I have tried that
I don't care for.

quick recipe--filet,bake fish, at 250 for 5 min., chop up fish finely, chop up onions, celery, garlic and cilantro, mix with any hush puppy mix(70% fish) roll in zatarain's fishfry, deep fry untill they float. use your imagination, won't be any left, gaurontee! oh yeah, make the balls about the size of ping-pong balls, you can even dip in a egg/milk mix before you roll in batter. just a starter recipe. le bon ton rolle'!

I have eaten them cooked in a red gravy.....We would cut the tail off and let them bleed out then cook it with alot of onions, red pepper, and a little tomato sauce....It was some good grub.
