Default Grande Isle Friday

Headed to Grande Isle Friday around noon. Going to hit the beach Friday afternoon and the bridge Friday night.

Have a trout charter trip planned Saturday morning and a bowfishing trip planned Saturday night.
Heading back to Lafayette to pick up wife at noon Sunday and heading to Baton Rouge to the Bayouland Country music festival.

If I have any gas left in the tank (my tank not the boat) going to bring wife and sister to catch some crabs and redfish at joseph harbor Monday.

Looking forward to a fun weekend!

A few questions:

- has anyone caught any fish off the beach yet this year in GI? I see they are calling for a north wind tomorrow and thursday. I am hoping this helps. Thoughts on this?

- what is the recommended bait to use for surf fishing on GI beach? Vudu Shrimp?

- is it a good time of year to do some night fishing off the bridge? What is recommended bait for bridge fishing?

- any suggestions for bow fishing? Havent shot a bow since I killed a hog with one about 15 years ago.

Thanks and I will be sure to post reports next week.

Thanks Casey.
I do know when I step foot on LSU territory that their facilities are top knotch. I have only been to Tiger Stadium once a few years ago to watch them stomp a hole in the Cajuns' face.

Opening night plastics and small topwaters in the surf. I've never bow fished before but heard you shoot under them. I am sure whoever u are going with will give u the low down and will have all the equipment. The bridge I would throw maybe a glow gulp or something.

How small of a topwater?
I'm no expert on topwater but I usually use the baby trout or bone white skitterwalk's. Would this be too big?

No a skitterwalk is perfect. All I throw is super spooks but when I go surf fishing, they seem to like a smaller plug.

Mr. Champ = Kastmaster. Hell of a lure no matter what they're called.

DOA/TKO shrimp under a Cajun Thunder cork, Sparkle beetles, Deadly Dudley jr. all w/ chartreuse on em.

She dog, Chug bug, Skitter walk w/ some chrome on em

Glow or white plastics for trout under the lights at night.
