Default MS Islands Mantrip

For our annual mantrip we were thinking of going to Chandeluer islands but I've read camping is prohibited there. I looked into Cat/ship/horn island all off the coast of Ms. Does anyone have any experience with these islands? Best time of year to fish them?

It is allowed on breton island unless something recently changed. The chandeluer islands are probably my favorite palce to fish in the entire world...its awsome....go on a full moon and fish between the islands in the middle of the night...

Horn island is fine DURING the WEEK, come saturday it's party central, boats running every where. Ship runs a crew boat dropping people off daily during the summer so I doubt you would get any decent fishing in. Never fished cat but hear good things. I would stick with chandeleur. Are you bringing your own boat or looking to get on a guide trip?

Most of us are in college so we try to keep it cheap. Probably take my buddies boat and haul some yaks out.

There are some charter/overnight boats that go out of biloxi to chandeleur during the week and stay a few nights. They take you out anchor and cook. They have multiple J16's everyone uses you guide yourself. Don't remember prices but don't think it's to high.
