Default City park Nola 4/2

Never woulda guessed what I caught fishing in the big lagoon by the museum while the youngest rode her scooter : yellow bass.

I was simply testing out her new spinning outfit when it nailed the deadly Dudley bay chovey. Chunky little thing and brave, too. Lost another one and had a few bites.ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21364951125.171780.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk 21364951143.209611.jpg

There's a big bass sanctuary of sorts in City Park. Off limits to fishing, but you can walk the banks. You can still see the bucks guarding the nests and yesterday I saw several of the big ones cruising in the crystal clear water. The bucks were running off big fish three times its size. A month ago I saw a few 6# (guessing) on the nest about to drop their eggs.

At its peak I counted 46 beds. Many are grassed over now, but very cool to watch.
