I have a 598 and have had trouble since day one. Sent it back three time and it comes back with a different problem. Now that it's out of warenty I'm going with a 7 elite.

I have been a Lowrance guy forever. My next unit will probably be a Hummingbird. I love the fact that I can use the Ipilot on the Minn Kota and set up to follow depth contours. I fish fresh and salt.
