Smokin Chipotle

buddy sent me 10 lbs of jalapenos out his garden so i halved and seeded them.Tossed them on the smoker yesterday w/ some hickory for 6 hrs .
Put them on a sheet pan and in the oven @ 175° over night.
Let them cool and ran them through my spice grinder to powder.
10 lbs of peppers made about 8 oz. of chipotle powder.
Very good flavor and heat.

I had been told that the stuff you make is alot better than the store bought. How true. I did this for using in my rub.
