I started a thread about this a while back. I think Pox said that there really isn't a whole lot of savings associated with building in this manner as opposed to traditional construction methods.

My take is that it should be virtually storm proof.

We've done the fab work on countless of these boxes to turn them into whatever they use them for, MCC buildings, offices, galleys, etc....... Depending on the amount of work you need put into it, it's not too bad on price. It will make one bad @$$ camp for sure! Since we specialize in building living quarters, we made our office the same way. 2 boxes 13x40 and put them together and then rocked walls and tiled the floor. Came out cheaper than buying one of those moldy @$$ office trailers they sell in Scott.

Good thing about it is that if you use it as a camp you can move it around with a flatbed wrecker truck for not to much. My buddy made one out of a 8x20 and its a nice little camp for him and his son. It has a bed, tv, directv, shower, water heater, toilet and a sink with a couple lights and electrical outlets. He has a couple thousand in it, it's really nice.

I have one that we use to store stands, UTV, ATVs, feed, etc. at my deer camp. We always talked about making a camp out of some. Would be pretty awesome.

A friend of mine owns a ranch in Pearsall, TX and the bunk houses are all converted pods. Will have to ask him who made them, but they come "drop ready" including A/C, stove, and bathroom.
