If the tinting doesn't stop the heat transfer, you may consider one of those copper awnings with the iron scrolls. We make them with a bronze colored aluminum skin. (looks like aged copper for half the price of copper). If this is not an option, plant you a bradford pear tree next to the window. I see a lot of people using shutters mounted on metal frame although they obscure your view out of the window. You can also get 'shade' screens to replace the existing screens. They come in varying degrees of sunblock ie. 80% 90% etc.

Needs to be a residential or commercial grade tint. Auto tint will work but will not reject as much heat and will not last as long. Residential films have a metal in the tint and reject as much as 79% total solar energy depending on which shade you go with. More reflectance = more heat rejection. More darkness = more glare reduction.

I have a similar problem in the corner room where my computer is located.

South and West walls are brick with a window on the west wall. There is a Crape myrtle outside the window which helps, but when the bricks heat up they really add to the heat load to cool the room.

Did not want to plant a tree....because it would be close to where the sewer line and incoming water line is located.

Only real option was to add more "A/C cooling" to the room. So for ~ $ 50 materials and a couple hours work...........I get twice the cooling.....much better now.
