Default BIL is Lucky

Well yesterday my brother in law calls me to ask if he can borrow my rifle to make a hunt in a small bean field he has permission to hunt that borders our hunting club in avoyelles parish. I said yes but thought he was crazy as it was 72 degrees, raining, and they had a tornado warning in effect for avoyelles parish nevermind that the farmer has been hunting this stand every day almost the entire season and has only seen a few does. He got to the stand at 4:15 and at 4:30 this deer walked out. Talk about lucky this is only probably his 4th hunt all year. About an hour after he shot this deer he said one alot bigger walked out and started feeding so hopefully the guy that farms the land will connect with that one today.

We did not have a scale with us but I would guess about 220. We was 3.5 yrs. old and most of our bucks that age go from 220-250 lbs.

Yeah, but he has permission to hunt the land for free and the guy who has the land was hunting out there also. The farmer told him he was stupid for not shooting it but I think he made the right decision. It is easy for the farmer to say he should have shot it after the fact but if he would have shot it he may have called him greedy and not allowed him to go back. Better not to screw up a good thing when you can hunt property for free.

He did. He said he had it off of safety but just couldn't do it. And this is a guy that before yesterday had never killed a buck in his life.
