Climbing Stands / Bowtech

Looking for recommendations on climbing stands:help:. Also, has anyone shot the new Bowtech Destroyer 350? If so what do you think?

wtretrievers 05-06-2010 10:53 AM

Can't beat the Ol man vison!

RaginCagin 05-06-2010 10:57 AM

summit viper. cant really beat the price and comfort.

Destroyer 350 is amazing. i shoot a bowtech Allegiance and love it but if I had the extra cash right now I would by the 350 in a hearbeat. It is fast, smooth, and quiet. IMO there is not a better bow on the market right now.

Yeah, that is ridiculous. You can buy the same exact design by hoyt that is not solid carbon for like $800. You would have to be out your mine to buy that bow. Some people just make to much dolla.

Bowtech makes a fine bow.......It's not always what everyone else thinks about it. If you're comfortable that's all that counts. I own a Bowtech, also own a Mathews thats getting to be antique! The bowtech is much faster & MUCH newer, but when comes time to head to the stand I always grab the Mathews. Just alot more comfortable with it.

it is the best stand on the market if you have a long walk to the stand. very compact and light and grip the treee like a vice grip. Not as comfortable as the summit or api and a little pricey but it is made for hunting and packing long distances. I had one until it got jacked. They have come a long way in comfort though since i had mine. Mine had the aluminum seat with a pad on it.

summit viper is best bang for your buck. i have 2 of them and love them. very easy to put on tree by yourself and very comfortable.

the summit viper or the summit 180 is the best, i owen one of each both are comfortable. The only difference is the front of the 180 is round allowing more leg room.

Is it October YET? 05-06-2010 02:36 PM

Buy anything Summit and you will be happy. Also before you buy the Bowtech go shoot the Hoyt Maxxis. I shot a bunch of bows last week and this thing blows all others away. Mine is on order and hope to have it in a few weeks. Sucks being left handed as no one stocks lefty bows. SHOOT THEM ALL BEFORE YOU BUY!!!

Come on October!!!

specktator 05-06-2010 02:41 PM

I'm not hating on Hoyt but one of my buddies that been shooting Matthews decided to get that Hoyt Maxxis last year. He loved it cause it's so fast and all that. He is already trying to get rid of it and got a new Matthews. He said he can't hit anything with it. He sent me a pic other day of 4 arrows in bullseye at 75 yards with his new Matthews.

specktator 05-06-2010 02:44 PM

Matthews Z7 is the one he just got. Nothin like a Matthews IMO.

wtretrievers 05-06-2010 02:50 PM

If you're a "piddler" Hoyt is the bow for ya! Have to stay on top of it to keep it shooting. They're bad about keeping in tune. IMO (& I own Bowtech & have had MANY others) Mathews is they way to go!

Not calling you a liar but I call bs!:) I'm not shooting at an animal over 50 yards so anything over that is to get beer money. For evert bow out there someone can shoot it great. Not all bows fitall people. That is why I said shoot as many as you can!!!

:amen: That's why I stick with the Mathews I have. It fits & I'm comfortable with it. Bows now days are just about all top of the line, they have to be to keep up with competition. Find what fits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RaginCagin 05-06-2010 02:59 PM

You are splitting hairs when you try to say a alphamax is better than a z7 is better than a destroyer 350. All 3 are top of the line bows out. I liked the 350 better than all of these but that does not mean it is better. It is personal preference. These are the cadillac's of bows out right now.

BTW ive killed more deer with my old Jennings that shot 230 fps than any other high tech bow i have owned since

I didn't know you were a Mathews fanboy!?:)
But Michael Wadell shoots a Hoyt! Hahahahaha. I guess I will give it a season and if its no good then throw it in the gutter and go buy another.

Oh....btw.....your name will fit this thread perfect! "Opinions Vary":*****:

specktator 05-06-2010 03:04 PM

Yeh I wouldn't take a shot on a deer over 40 yards with my stick a string. I'm just saying it was impressive. I'm trying to get one with a recurve. My buddy killed one with his this past year.
