Breaking news - - - - As we keep a watchful eye on the terrible oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico south of Venice, Louisiana we continue to be mindful of our affected friends to the east. Let’s pray that the authorities get this under control very quickly. Strong south and southeast winds have kept our fishermen on their toes. There has been lots of fishing action on the south end of the lake as far as the jetties. Big redfish continue to dominated the action down there with some HUGE black drum mixed in. (we call them bay snappers) Early in the morning when the wind slows big flocks of working seagull can be seen pointing the way to schools of speckled trout. The summer pattern is upon up so as soon at the wind slows we can begin to connect the dots. Good catches by Captains Darney, Brady, Anthony and Bobby capped off the last few days. Come and check out the spring/summer action here on Lake Calcasieu. KENNEL UP
