Palo Alto has a 600 yd range in Donaldsonville. Golden Triangle Gun Club has a 600 yd range in Beaumont. The closest 1000 yd range I know about is Bayou Rifle Club in Houston and I think it is the only 1000 yd range in Texas. I haven't shot at Palo Alto but at GTGC and Bayou you have to be a member to shoot unless you are a NRA member shooting in the NRA matches they hold once a month. These are NRA High Power matches where you lay on the ground and use a sling or F Class matches where you can use a bipod, or front rest and rear bag. They shoot three relays with each relay having 20 shots and 2 sighters. The maximum score for the relay is 20x10= 200 points. At 1000 yds the 10 ring is 10" in diameter, about 1 MOA. The x ring is 5" in diameter but still counts 10 points. The x ring is used to break tie scores. I saw a guy shoot a range record 200-15x in the 1000 yd match. All 20 shots into 10" with 15 of them inside the 5" x ring. He shoots a .284 Win. using 180 gr. Berger bullets with a 12-42 power Nightforce scope. It can be a lot of fun once you get into it.

I dont think they have a rifle range. Me thinks it is only for sporting clays. Used to be very nice with a nice restaurant and pro shop. Dont think it is open but for special events now. And maybe members only. I could be wrong though.

Lake Charles Gun Club in South Lake Charles has a rifle range. It is pretty long! I think around 5 or 6 hundred yds. I think the name is Jean LaFitte Range.
