FLARE TRAINING Saturday, June 5th, 1 PM, East of I210 Boat Launch

FLARE TRAINING Saturday, June 5th, 1 PM, East of I210 Boat Launch

Join us for a presentation on the Safety, Handling, Storage, and Firing of Flares. Also how to Dispose of Expired Flares.
When: June 5, 2010 Time: 1300 (1 PM) Where: East of the I210 Boat Launch
Bring: Flares, Flare guns, expired flares (for firing, not for disposal; we will NOT be able to accept flares for disposal at this event)
A distress situation is not the time to learn how to use a Flare Gun or learn that your Flares are outdated, damp or unusable. The Lake Charles Sail & Power Squadron is sponsoring this event to educate our members and the public on the proper use, handling, storage and disposal of Flares. The event is open to the public but priority will be given to LCSPS members for instruction. Special thanks to the United State Coast Guard, the Lake Charles Fire Department, Chemical Waste Management and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury.
Sponsored by the Lake Charles Sail & Power Squadron
Event Chairman: Oliver “Jackson” Schrumpf
Training provided by the United States Coast Guard Weapons Petty Officer, Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class: Timothy Webb
Instruction by Chemical Waste Management Inc.
Larry Cuppy, Hazardous Waste Disposal
Fire Safety provided by Lake Charles Fire Department
Training Officer: Keith Murray
