In case ya'll were wondering where I was.... here are the details. I had a 4-day weekend and we planned a trip to Conroe texas to do a little fishing....we ended up in New Braunfels... here's how it all happened
Friday June 4th: Woke up bright and early (8:00am) and headed out about 9:30ish. Took back roads from leesville (hwy 8) to Jasper,TX. Didnt click it, so I got a ticket. $135.... yay, this is going to be an interesting trip. Made it to Conroe,TX about 1:30pm. Said "HI" to family and went straight to their private lake. Caught about 11 bass from the bank, then hopped into the canoe. Ended up catching about 9 more from the canoe on baby brush hogs and scum and ribbit frogs over lilies. Calmed down for the night.
Saturday June 5th: Went back out to the private lake and caught a fish just about every cast. Hooked onto this beauty in the pic. Weighed her at a whopping 6.9lbs.****pics attached****....my Berkley scale had water in it, not sure of the exact weight. After I caught her, we left for New Braunfels,TX at about 2ish pm. Got there about 6ish pm due to construction on roads and backroad speed limits. Went and ate at "Clear Springs Restaurant". Place was off the hook. We ordered a large onion rings. Plate was towering with onion rings. Ordered a po-boy (shrimp). Man, was I miserable. ****pics attached**** Bayed up like a pack of hogs at the Hampton Inn by I-35 after that meal.
Sunday June 6th: Dad wanted to go to the Natural Bridge Caverns, so we did. Place was gorgeous. Our tour was 75-90 minutes long and we walked 3/4 mile. We went 18 stories down, and 18 stories back up.Words cant describe how awesome it was. ****pics attached**** We went across the street to the African Safari tour. ****pics attached**** This place is a kid's dream. I was happier than a wetard in a chuck-cheese. I recommend this to any parent who wants to have the African experience without going to Africa. They gave you a bag of feed to give to any and all animals. We had an Ostrich pretty much go ape-**** on us. I fed a goat from the truck. Prices for both places were reasonable and a very good experience on both adventures. We went back tot he Hotel and changed for a quick swim down the guadalupe river. Water was COLD....I felt like a friggin Polar Bear. After 2 hours of swimming, we made our way back to the hotel, then out to eat at Chili's. Bedtime after that
Monday June 6th:---------6 hour trip back home- ****pics attached of the overpasses in Houston****------------
THE END....
