day trip summary + night rig fishing video breton sound
 

rolled out to Delacroix from baton rouge about 2:30 am Saturday . we got to Delacroix and was greeted by no wind ! made the long run from Delacroix into black bay made a few casts and boxed a few fish on top water, nothing consistent though. we decided to make the run to Breton island i caught a giant flounder and a few minutes later we were greeted by wl&f and told we could not fish within 500 ft of the refuge so back to black bay, we found some good clean moving water and boxed another 10 specks still nothing consistent. we decided to call it a day and head back to the camp to take naps and get ready for night fishing. around 4-PM we made our way out making a few stops picking up small undersized fish under the birds:shaking: as the sun started to fall hit a reef and picked up some more on top water before making our way further out to the rigs to night fish. we had a rig in mind but on our way out the wind started to really pick up and we found one that was pretty well lit up, thankfully we did because it was a gold mine . within 20 of sunset birds started working picking off pogies that the trout were pushin up. we stayed till about 12am hoping that the wind would lay down to make our 25- 30 mile ride back in a little easier but it only picked up . we caught well over 100 nice trout throwin back some of the bigger ones all on plastic ( glow brown lures flappin devil) . between the sat am and pm trip we ran over 200 miles :eek:
