Anyone know anything about septic tanks?
I have to install a mechanical system and dont know a thing about septic tanks. Got a price on a Solar Air aerated system, 500gpd is $2600 which includes 100' of fill line, additional footage is $2/ft, if a lift pump is included its $250. Sounds like a good price to me, just curious on if its junk or what. I hear guys at work talk bad about Hoot systems, any of ya'll have suggestions? :help:

Sewer Treatment Systems
I don't know where you are located. If around Baton Rouge area call Ted Hebert. He has installed 3 systems for me. They are honest and sell a good unit called a white water system made by Delta Process. I have a license in wastewater treatment, collections and certifications in drinking water distribution. I researched all the brands and bought the white water. Are they making you do an effluent reduction line as well?

I have the Solar Air system, it works fine for me, I had to replace the air pump. When your pump goes out take the whole thing to their shop. They will sell you the kit to replace just the actual pump instead of the whole housing and everything for about half price.

We had ours replaced before Rita, the old tank was caved in. The only maintenance we have had was to replace the air pump. That's not uncommon. It's about time to have it pumped out. Sludge builds up over time. They were able to tie into my existing field lines. My mother-in-law bought a new house two doors down from us, she has the White Water system. At that time, the parish required the shed type field lines. Tree roots got into the field lines and stopped them up. It backed up and made a stinky mess. She had the field lines replaced with perforated pipe and no more problems. Sounds like Deerfarmer is the expert. Call me if you need any more info from me. 477-5770
