Mercury Mechanic in Baton Rouge Area
Anyone know a good Mercury Mechanic in the Baton Rouge Area? I work in Plaquemine and live in Baton Rouge so I usually take my boat to Cajun Outboards for Maint and to get fixed, but the wait time there is soooo long, took me 6 weeks last time I dropped it off there.
Went to Toledo Bend recently and while running, the engine threw an alarm. It went off twice while trying to get on plane. After turning off the motor and letting it sit for a second, I was able to get it on plane if kept below 3000 rpms and the alarmd didnt go off the rest of the day. It is not the overheat or the oil temp light. The book says prob something with fuel injection. I want to take it in and get it looked at. It is a 2001 Merc Opti 200hp. Anyone know a good Merc mechanic in the Baton Rouge area? -Jordan |

I don't know any mechanic in B.R........ Asr wont either cause he owns a yamahamma.......it doesn't need a mechanic.......... I'd find an evinrude owner, they'll know lots of mechanics....... |
Thomas Marine in Gonzales----he is a big triton dealer which is owned by Merc.
Ascension Marine in Prairieville Boats Unlimited in Baton Rouge Cabelas in Gonzales Bass Pro in Denham Springs I have a Yamaha and I have used Ascension Marine since it is close to my house....I was happy with them. BTW, most dealers work on all the brand of motors on the market. |

developed a hair line crack in a weld right at 1 year......:cry:it is at the dealership in AR....they are in the process to re-weld it. If it cracks again, new BOTE(boat only):D......What pisses me off, I know 3 people that have the same exact boat with NO issues......My typical F-in luck....:cry:.....
However, I know several people that have boats that I have been fishing with lately. Kind of nice if you know what I mean. Wife would like for me to sell it.....she wants granite counter tops in the kitchen....:*****::*****: |

:*****::*****:Listen who is talking.......I saw your fish count from our Hopedale trip.....you said 60-70......counting the white trout your boat might of had 30.....:*****::*****::*****: |
