Started the day off on the east bank fishing nest to yall's buddy........i'm sure yall can guess who......anyways, caught 5 fish in about 8 cast and thought the morning was going to be great but the fish moved on us so we did the same and ran to long point. All we did at long point was watch other boats catch on live bait......so we decided to head back to the east bank to try some other spots and ran into a big flock of birds and finished the day in the middle of the lake with about 30-35 trout and only 12 keepers for the grease.

It was a good day, we brought a coulpe of youngens and they both caught their 1st trout......together they caught about 15 when it was all said and done.

To me when my son was growing up;I'd always strive to make the trip a big contest for him of course I d always loose. He has developed into a great outdoorsman. To me that part of my life has been well achieved. So I submit to all you fisherman Fish for the young angler's and don't be discouraged when they don't always show the appreciation of all it takes to take them out in whatever outdoor adventure they're kids. One true story that happened for years with my son, was he'd get so excited when he have a good fish on he'd walk right off the front of the boat.Guess What!! The other day I took him on a topwater trip and Yep the first fish of day in the dark and about 5 or so other boatsin the area 30 years ole and still trying to swim with the fish. You can imagine the comments. I really tried not to laugh but then I thought how I'm going gethim in the boat. Ended up hugging the big motor and trimmed up.We both had a good laugh and went back to fishin. Sorry for being so long winded but iI figured sum might have simuliar occurances.

lol good story. When I bring my little cousin (just turned 9) I have to keep reminding him not to scream lol. He's always just caught some lil catfish and some perch in the ponds behind my grandparents and in the bayou out front so when he hooks onto a nice red he looses his stuff! He's probably the best deckhand I ever had also, he knows to just set the anchor into the water because if he drops it either in the water or on the bottom of the boat that the fish will hear it and swim away (somebody taught him well :D). Every time he latches on to a good red he screams "Oh yea!!" or "Oh boy!" lol.
