I just can't take it anymore!!! BP has capped the well for almost 72 hours now, but the government is wanting to open the kill line and release oil back into the Gulf.

Why?????? Becasue they have found small gas bubbles coming from the floor of the sea bed about 400 yards away from the conductor pipe. Now, BP is doing all they can to keep them from doing this, but it could get ugly. As one ROV operator put it, there is not one job he goes on that he does not see bubbles coming from the sea floor. But since this is the BP spill, the government thinks it is something that has never happend before.

Hell, if you get enough rainfall in Acadia Parish and we have some standing water in my yard, you will get methane bubbles coming up. What a bunch of idiots! I am actually waiting on a call back from an attorney in New Orleans who is filing paperwork in federal court to get an court order keeping the feds from opening the well cap. He wants some info that we can help him with and I am glad to do it. Hope he gets it in time!!!

I just wonder how much longer BP will put up with this crap before pulling out and leaving the Obama administration to do what they want to.

This is the kind of thing that happens when you get so called gov't EXPERTS involved in something they have no clue about. They need to stay out of it and let this thing get over with. Good Lord.

There's a reason that oilfield hands don't write laws... It's not their field!!! Now, keep lawmakers out of the oilfield!!!!!!!

Those are from shallow flows. They are everywhere in deepwater.
All it is, is small gas pockets under the mud line.
We drill thru them all the time.
They make it difficult to drill thru cause the gas can migrate up to the water around
the outside of the drive pipe and casings, causing the earth to wash out around the
casing.

Will the bubbles go away come August?

I doubt it- LOL!!! They have been here since the Gulf of Mexico was formed, thousands of years ago!

Gov't is gonna let BP keep the cap on for a little longer. THey gotta watch the bubbles.

i'd like to see a list of events that highlights the negative effects the USCG has had on the well operations.

USCG has no idea about the oil and gas business. The do inspect boats, rigs and
platforms for safety and ballasting compliance. But they do not operate any oil
and gas production or drilling compliance.

MMS is the gov't entity that oversees oil and gas drilling and production compliance.
They have the expertise and engineers to do the job, but since they were spanked
for letting BP drill a bad designed well, they are thrown out the loop on this project.

BP and MMS should be working the well issue.
USCG National Response Center should be working the clean up issue.
