Grand Isle 7/17-7/18

Went down to the island to have a look around since LDWF opened everything up. I only saw one area around the state park that had some oil sheen that has not been cleaned up. Other than that, the water is beautiful.
Also, I honestly can't remember seeing the amount of bait in the water around Grand Isle. There's mullet and shrimp everywhere. Everywhere you look, birds are diving. Plenty of trout too. I spent 2 days fishing the island and limited out each day. It didn't matter what you threw; topwater, plastics under a cork, corkys... they were hitting everything. I didn't have time to take any pictures while I was on the water, just some of the aftermath! |
I am thinking about going over there this weekend to fish, before they shut it down
again. |
nice!!! if only the island in timb. bay were open
|
Awesome. U still cant surf fish though, right?

You should only have to throw them in the pot to cook, no need to add oil it's mixed in the flesh.:*****:

Been hearin it's been good down there! Good job!
|
Man i'm drooling on my keyboard right now. Im dying to get down there. Hopefully in the next few weeks i can make it.
|
Good to hear, hopin for the best down there.
|
Good to see they're bitin. No fishing pressure helps a lot and to see it getting back to 'almost' normal. Missing that place more and more when I see reports like this. Keep us informed if you go back.
