Feed Back on ABU/Revo's

Is anyone out there using the new Abu Garcia Revo's and if so how are they working out for you? In head to head comparisons, weight, bearings,
materials they look very good against the Shimanos. The number of bearings are generally what I look at and the Revos beat Shimanos hands down at a better price. Waiting on your responses.

revo

i have both a revo and a curado and i much much rather my curado... revo is nice though, but to me the curado casts much smoother and farther with fewer birdnest. I can cast as hard as I want against the wind with my curado and never backlash at all, but I haven't got the revo to do that yet. I've tried many times. lol I'd like to see what everyone else says too, but my vote is the curado

I also have both ,I have the revo stx for bass fishing with a little heavier weight its good but salt water throwing in the wind not a good thing. For the same price reels I much rather the Curado. Thats my 2 cents

Which Shimano are you comparing it to?

Used Abu all my life, still using some that are close to 15 years old and one that is almost 30, never tried the Shimano though. After balancing my checkbook today, doesn't look like I will anytime soon...unless someone has an extra reel or two they'd like to donate!;)

I have 3 Revo SX and 2 Curado's (green) and yes you can throw the Curado's better into winds but the Revo's will take a little while to break in. I can cast the Revo's just as far in the wind now. But with the wind to my back I can darn near throw all the string off the spool. When i first used the Revo SX they would backlash a little then you can tell they would smooth out. 2 years of saltwater fishing 2 Revo's and not a speck of corrosion on either of them I just spray then with fresh water every time i get home and never took one apart yet. And Revo has about the best drag you can find. Look at all the reels on Cabela's and Bass Pro and compare the drag #'s Revo has the most. That is just my 2 cents, I would even let you borrow one far a while and see if you like it before you buy one.
