More Calcasieu ship cannel dredging

I was out in the Prien Lake area Friday and spotted a dredge boat south of the I-210 bridge. I talked with the 2 people on a small "work" boat and found out that they will be dredging from there on down the river a few miles. They said this will take ~ 3 months.

I should have asked him if this is the same dredge boat that has been working down by 9 mile cut.

Is there a dredge boat still working at 9 mile cut on friday or this weekend? Or did the boat move up by the I-210 bridge.

Also, the parking area by the 210 boat launch had ~20 car/trucks parked there [no trailers] and 7 vehicles with boat trailer. The guys I talked with said the dredging crew was not parking at this launch. Anyone know why there were so many people "parking" there?

Fishing Report.......slow compaired to my Wednesday trip. 1 keeper Red and Trout and 2 flounder.....did not take any pictures.

Only caught a few rat reds. Caught ~15 croaker....all released except a couple used for bait. Water was maybe a little clearer but almost no movement all day. There was a fair amonut of boat traffic and jet skies during the afternoon.

It was just at the cut going to Spicers, spread out for three weeks in the area. The
